hello my basket weaving friend!! looks like we've got more chilly weather this week. I love settling down to weave with hot cup of something nice to drink. and I'd enjoy weaving with you, if you're available! This week's Creativity/Basket meetup is on Friday at 3:30. You can bring baskets or any art or craft project, and we'll work side by side. Please RSVP if you want to join in person, and I'll give you the location. It's free, and you can bring a friend if you like. I'll also be doing this session online, and you can drop in via google meet at this link if online suits you better. We had some folks join from all over the world over the past few weeks, with fun projects of all kinds and interesting conversations. Foraging outlook:Cattails that I've seen along the county roads in our area are mostly looking pretty scraggly now, but you can probably still find a few good leaves for weaving, and if you're working small, it only takes a few. Day lily leaves -- some are on their way out, many of them bedraggled and mildewy, but if you poke around, there are still some around town that look great. Siberian Iris with narrow grass-like leaves are great to harvest right now and dry quickly; as weavers they can give you bright green accents for your soft brown daylily baskets. Big Dutch Iris with the wide blades can also be harvested now. Something fun to try:The lady at the Dundas Post office suggested I try dying some of my weavers with beet juice. I tried it and liked what happened. My fingers got kind of pink, but I guess that's a reasonable price to pay for such a nice accent color (see below). What kinds of things are you trying? I'd love to see photos! Sending warm thoughts your way. Trina

Music & compassionate coaching for your path home to YOU.
Dear Reader, happy Saturday!! we're getting some glorious rain here in Minnesota and I'm enjoying how cozy it feels inside. There's a lot on the calendar so far for the next couple of months. I hope I get to see you for one or more of my events. And a bit of housekeeping . . . If you came here for the baskets and are wondering why I’m talking about my music, Or if you came here for music and are wondering what is all this blah blah about baskets and creativity, I understand that what I’m up...
hi friends, wow it got chilly all of a sudden!! feels like cozy basket weaving weather. I'll be weaving baskets starting at 1:30pm on Friday. Weather looks potentially rainy so I'll plan to be indoors. If you want to join me, hit reply to RSVP and I'll let you know the location (Northfield). Also: it's not too late to harvest cattails, but will be soon and I found a spot downtown where there's some really high quality Daylily leaves, which I'll share with anyone who is interested. I would...
hi friends, I didn't take into account how busy it would be downtown yesterday due to DJJD. (yes, I'm not originally from around here 😉) So I was a little late finding parking etc. I'm going to do today's 1:30pm basket meetup somewhere else today. Still deciding where. please reply to this email if you plan to go (or if you have a preference for where we meet) and I'll keep you updated. Keep creating! in joy, Trina
